Your onboard scanners (if fitted) will then scan the asteroid for ores. The Mining laser will then attempt to mine Five sections of ore. Increasing your Scan Rating by adding higher caliber scanners will increase the chance of locating better ores within this asteroid field. Your mining laser will also add a final 'Trigger Pull' % bonus to your Scan Rate so always mine with the best laser you can afford and use.
